This is an announcement from the Katori Police Station, Chiba Prefecture.

A series of robberies have been reported in the Kanto area, and a series of robberies targeting the homes of elderly people have also occurred in Chiba Prefecture.

Before committing the crimes, the criminals visited homes posing as remodeling companies, or made phone calls pretending to be from financial institutions or police officers, to obtain personal information such as family structure and asset status.

If you receive a visit or suspicious call from a stranger at your home, please do not tell them that you are a senior citizen household or that you have cash at home.

To avoid becoming a victim of burglary or phone deception,
・ Set your home landline phone to an answering machine
・ Do not talk to suspicious visitors in person
・ Lock your front door and windows and keep your doors locked
・ Do not keep large sums of cash in your home
If you receive a suspicious visit or suspicious phone call from a remodeling contractor or other suspicious person, please call 110 or report the incident to the Katori Police Station in Chiba Prefecture.
