While shime decorations, mini kadomatsu and other New Year decorations are readily available these days,
participants can try making decorations using traditional methods handed down locally from long ago. We will try our hand at making decorations using traditional methods handed down from generation to generation in local communities.
This is a good opportunity to learn about the meaning of New Year decorations and when to display them.
For shime decorations, we will carefully guide you step by step, starting from the process of weaving straw, bundling it, weaving it in, and so on.
There will also be an opportunity for children to make miniature kadomatsu, so the whole family can participate in this project.
