We have recently become aware of a number of "fictitious billing scam" e-mails and phone calls.
This tactic is to send a message to your computer or smartphone saying, "There is an unpaid fee for a pay site. If you don't pay it today, we will file a lawsuit. or "Your computer is infected with a virus. It will cost you money to get rid of the virus. They will then send an e-mail saying something like, "Your computer is infected with a virus, and it will cost you money to get rid of it.
You will then be asked to purchase an electronic money card at a convenience store or other store and give the number on the card （ This will be used by the criminals. ） .
Compared to other methods, the initial amount demanded by this method is small (several tens of thousands of yen), but once you accept the demand, they demand cash and other items one after another, and in many cases, the final damage is millions or tens of millions of yen.
If you receive a request for electronic money by "e-mail" under the name of "unpaid charges" or "virus infection," it is a scam and you should never accept it.
