For the past few days, an automated voice in the city has been saying
"Your phone will be out of service in two hours."
"Please press 1 to be connected to an operator."
and other such scams.
Then they verbally ask for personal information, and finally
"You can use an ATM to complete the process."
"You can pay with electronic money."
"You can also pay by credit card.
They also try to cheat you out of your money by telling you on your computer screen, "You have a virus. Please call us immediately." When you call the displayed phone number, you will be told that your computer has been infected with a virus.
"You can pay electronically."
There have also been fictitious billing scams.
To prevent damage, set your home phone to answering machine even when you are at home, or do not call unknown numbers and do not talk to them.
If you receive such a call or suddenly an unknown screen appears, suspect a scam and call 110 or report it to the Kimitsu Police Station.
