Since the end of last week, the Matsudo Police Department has been receiving numerous phone calls from people claiming to be from the Matsudo City Office, and several cases of telephone deception have been reported. The most common tactic was a person claiming to be an employee of Matsudo City Hall,
saying, "I have a refund, but the deadline for receiving it is today."
"We have a special ATM service for you.
"We have your refund, but the deadline for receiving it is today.
You cannot get your refund at an ATM.
If you get a phone call asking for money or a cash card, it is a scam.
Hang up the phone immediately and call the police.
Also, if you see someone operating an ATM while talking on a cell phone, please suspect that they are a victim of fraud, call them to prevent damage and call the police.
