Beware of Malicious Businesses Taking Advantage of the Earthquake

< Case 1 >
There is no apparent damage to your home, but a visiting construction company told you, "It is dangerous as it is. We need to have construction work done immediately.
< Case 2 >
I was told that I could repair my house for free with the insurance money, is this true?
< Case 3 >
I was visited by someone claiming to be from city hall and offering to collect donations, can I trust them?

< A word of advice >
When disasters such as earthquakes occur, we receive consultations that are suspected of being a commercial scheme to take advantage of the confusion and desire to support victims. Please be aware that there is a possibility that the trouble may spread in the future. If you are solicited for home repairs, etc., do not immediately sign a contract on the spot, but rather obtain estimates from multiple businesses and consult with others before carefully signing a contract. Be especially wary of businesses that barge in and persistently solicit without asking.
Even if you are told that "insurance benefits are available," do not immediately sign a contract on the spot, but consult with the insurance company or insurance agent with which you are affiliated.
Public organizations will not call or visit you to ask for donations. Check carefully the activities and use of the money by the organization, etc. that is asking for it.
If you are in trouble, please immediately consult with your local government consumer affairs center, etc. ( Consumer Hotline 188 ).
