Alerting Customers to Telephone Deception

The Ichihara Police Department would like to inform you of the following.
This month, a phone deception has been reported in the Shiitsu area of Ichihara City.
The perpetrator called the victim's home, claiming to be the victim's son or a person related to the victim's workplace, and asked the victim, "I have lost my cash card. They call the victim's home, claiming to be the victim's son or a person related to the victim's workplace. I need to make a deposit by today." The person claiming to be from the workplace then comes to the victim's home and swindles the victim out of his or her money.
The scammer will target your savings in your home and ask you to pick up the cash at your home or bring it to a meeting place. There is an increasing number of phone deception scammers who call not only on weekdays but also on weekends and holidays to predict phone deception. If you receive such a suspicious call at home, check with your family or consult the police. Please take measures to avoid talking directly to the perpetrator of the scam by using the answering machine function of your home landline phone or setting your home phone to reject blocked calls.
