The Mobara Police Department would like to inform you of the following.
Since the beginning of Golden Week, there have been a number of phone deception scam prelude calls.
Callers are calling your home landline or cell phone, pretending to be your son, relative, municipal office, police officer, or various other persons,
saying "I have caused damage to my company", "I have a refund", "Your cell phone is being used for crime"
and so on, in an attempt to cheat you out of money.
If "money" is mentioned on the phone, it is a scam ! Please hang up the phone immediately !
Other calls from international calls starting with + ( plus ) and "infected with a virus" or "paid membership" warning screen while using a PC or smartphone When you contact the phone number shown on the screen, you are asked to purchase electronic money at a convenience store and provide your number in order to unlock the account.
To avoid being cheated by scammers
1 Always set your home landline phone to "answering machine setting" or "blocked caller ID" and do not answer unnecessary calls
2 Use number display to confirm the other party's phone number
3 Call the real phone number of your relatives, municipal office, etc. Call and confirm
4 Do not call back to an unknown number or contact a phone number listed on an email or warning screen
5 Do not give out personal information, bank account numbers, or PIN numbers over the phone

If money is discussed over the phone, do not make a decision alone, but immediately consult your family or call the Mobara Police Station ( 0475-22-0110 ).
