Chiba City ： Beware of Deposit and Savings Fraud

On January 10, 2024, at approximately 9:20 a.m., a telephone call was received at Nagasu 2-chome, Chuo-ku, Chiba City, indicating that the caller was trying to deceive the City Office. A similar call was also made in Murata-cho, Chuo-ku, Chiba City, at 9:20 a.m. on January 10, 2024.
The caller claimed to be from the city office and said, "I sent you an envelope, but you have not returned it. Please tell me your bank account number so that I can get a refund for my medical expenses. After that, someone claiming to be a city hall employee will visit your home and cheat you out of your cash card, or steal your cash card when they see an opening.
If you are asked for your PIN, do not give it to them.
