Advice from Aqualine Marathon runners
Uphill training is a must! Watch out for the steep slope after 35km.
After you parted ways with half-marathon runners, you miss other runners and face more slopes. Save your energy and keep your spirits up until then!
Save your energy in the first half.
If your group is toward the end, you will face lots of traffic until you get into Aqualine. Be aware of the checkpoint.
Baggage areas are very busy. You should go to the bathrooms at the start line. There will be many temporary toilets and waiting time is not that bad.
In the middle of the course, Umihotaru has many bathrooms. No waiting time!
I always arrive at Kisarazu station around 7:30am.
Many runners arrive at the venue approximately 2 hours in advance.
Your signal will be busy around the start line or within the venue. I highly recommend you to talk to your friends about the meeting location. Once you meet your friends, stay with them. It's hard to find them again.
Local kids will support you with all their might. They are lovely and encouraging!
Don't miss the chance to run on the Aqualine once per two years! You can never experience the same beautiful scenery without running it! Please try it out and enjoy!

I put stick-on heat pack on my stomach before running.
Since cold weather and rain were expected, I bought a cheap pocket poncho. I used it for windshield. I could just throw it away when it's no longer needed.
I wore arm sleeves to keep myself warm. You can protect yourself from cold weather and let your sweat evaporate. It's easier to control your temperature.
