Regarding suspicious phone calls claiming to be from police officers

This is an announcement from the Kimitsu Police Department.

In the city, a fraudulent caller is claiming to be a police officer.
In the call,
"Your account is being used for a crime and we need to transfer the money in your account to a new account."
"I need to know how much money you have in your account."
If you hear words such as, "This is a scam.
To prevent damage, set your home phone to answering machine even when you are home and do not talk to unknown parties.
Also, the perpetrator may instruct you to call them on line, but the police will not require you to call them on line.
If you respond and
・ give them the status of cash or assets in your home storage.
・ You have told us about your family structure or that you are an elderly only household.
In such cases, please immediately call 110 or contact the Kimitsu Police Station.
