Beware of suspicious phone calls regarding fixed-rate tax breaks!

This is an announcement from the Katsuura Police Station.

Today, within the jurisdiction of the Katsuura Police Station, a suspicious phone call has been received from a person claiming to be an employee of the tax office regarding a flat-rate tax reduction.

The caller states,
0A few months ago, I mailed you documents regarding the flat-rate tax reduction.
If you do the procedure, you will get a tax break of several tens of thousands of yen.
If you are told this, suspect fraud.

With regard to the flat-rate tax reduction, government officials will not try to get your personal information, bank account, etc. over the phone or make you go to an ATM for the procedure.
If you receive a phone call or email that you do not recognize, please contact your family or the police.
