We have received many consultations from citizens.
Many callers suddenly offer to inspect water heaters over the phone or by door-to-door visits, and then pressurize customers into replacing expensive water heaters by stirring up their anxiety. In some cases, the caller may misrepresent their identity, saying that they were commissioned by the city hall or by the gas company with which they have a contract.
City Hall ・ The gas company does not offer sudden phone calls or home visits for inspections.
0 Don't let companies that call or visit you to offer inspections easily.
〇 If you cannot contact the company to refuse the inspection and they visit you, refuse the inspection over the intercom.
〇 Do not sign a contract on the spot.
You may be able to take a cooling ・ off period.
If you have any doubts or concerns, please contact a consumer affairs center immediately.
