Chiba City ： Phone Deception Alert in effect ！ ！ Beware of suspicious calls ！ ！

We are currently receiving suspicious phone calls in Wakaba-ku from a person who does not give his/her name or the name of the vendor.
The caller states
"Your son has been admitted to the hospital."
and
"Your personal information has been compromised."
"We are calling in cooperation with the consumer affairs center and the police."
etc.
After this, they say, "We need to pay for the surgery," "We need to go through procedures to erase the information that has been compromised." and so on, and may try to cheat you out of your money or bank book ・ or cash card.
To avoid becoming a victim of fraud, it is important not to "talk on the phone with the criminal. Even when you are at home, set your home landline phone to "answering machine setting" and do not answer calls from criminals.
If the caller mentions 'money ・ bankbook ・ cash card', suspect a scam and be sure to ask for help.
