◎ Postwar History of Kisarazu Base
~ Focusing on the period up to the 1930s ~
Mr. Katsuaki Kurihara ( Member of Kisarazu City History Editorial Committee )
Kisarazu was established in 1936 on reclaimed land in northern Kisarazu Port. The naval air base was seized by the U.S. military after the defeat in the war.
Various problems caused by the U.S. military base became social problems, and in 1954, a movement against the U.S. military base expansion demand was developed.
The history surrounding the Kisarazu base in the postwar period will be specifically clarified through administrative documents and newspaper articles of the time.
