[Beware of Donation Scams]

After a disaster strikes, you may receive information about suspected donation scams in which people claim to be welfare organizations or public institutions and try to swindle you out of your donations.
It is advisable to check the activities of the organization soliciting donations and how the money will be used, and only donate after you have satisfied yourself with the information.

Advice from the past
・ It is unlikely that a person claiming to be a social welfare organization will visit you to collect donations.
・ Public institutions such as city halls do not call households to ask for donations.
If you receive a call, do not panic and check.
・ When transferring money to an account, check the name of the payee carefully.
